Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) In-Person Skills Training

The mission of the Culver City Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is to support local responders, communities, private organizations, and state or federal agencies swiftly and efficiently during large-scale disasters or planned events. CERT members are trained to strengthen Culver City’s disaster response efforts by providing vital volunteer assistance when needed.

The Culver City Fire Department (CCFD) is offering a free two-day skills training session that will fulfill the in-person requirement for full CERT certification.

  • You must live or work in Culver City.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age.

When

Sign up for one of two sessions:

Spring
Saturday, March 29, 2025 AND Saturday, April 5, 2025 (you must attend both 8-hour classes for certification)

Fall
Saturday, September 13, 2025 AND Saturday, September 20, 2025 (you must attend both 8-hour classes for certification)

Online Registration

Step 1.Take the Online Course

Complete the 12-hour self-paced online CERT course, which covers the lecture portion of the training. This course is provided for free through the University of Utah.

Step 2.Download the Online CERT Course Completion Certificate

Once you complete the 12-hour self-paced online CERT course, you will be able to download a completion certificate. You will need the completion certificate to register for the in-person skills training course in the next step. 

Step 3.Register for One of Two In-Person CERT Skills Training Courses

Complete the Online Registration Process  

Note: The registration process requires you to upload a completion certification from the 12-hour online CERT Course.
